It’s got a bunch of his favorite TV/movie characters in there as possible games/decks, as well as upper- and lowercase letters, and a hybrid where you can match the uppercase to the lowercase. He’s already got his uppercase alphabet pretty much down, but he needs a little work with lowercase. I think I plan to add a few more decks in there as well, probably a numbers one and a colors one (he doesn’t really need much with those, but my daughter will here in the next year or so). And probably an alphabet to animal deck as well, or alphabet to object, something like that.

Anyway, if you’ve got preschool-age kids, and you let them on your computer, you could do worse than let them play my game for a few minutes.

One quick tip: for some reason, Chrome doesn’t currently like the sound effects (more Scriptaculous). So if you get a blue screen right after flipping a card, reload the page and disable sound with the button in the corner. Weird, I know. Check back, occasionally, though. While I was working on this the sound worked fine, then Chrome updated and it didn’t work anymore. So it’s probably a version-specific thing, I would imagine it’ll get fixed in the next update. And I think your kids will enjoy it more if it goes “Tada!” when they win.

Jhonen is growing up and getting smarter all the time. He is potty training now, and is very excited about wearing his Underoos. He speaks in full sentences, though he sometimes misses a word here and there. He loves playing outside, and I recently taught him to play catch, so his hand-eye coordination is improving as well.

Evie is crawling now, and babbling and singing quite a bit. Her sleeping schedule is… awkward. It makes Mom pretty stressed out most days. We hoped it would get better after her ear tubes, and maybe it did, a little bit… but not by much.

I guess that’s all for now. I can honestly tell you that I plan to write something a little more substantial soon… though, to be fair, I honestly planned to write something more substantial fairly soon after my last post as well, and that was in January. So, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Also, as of Elise’s last doctor visit, the due date has been bumped up by a couple days, to 10/20. And her doctor said he will probably schedule the C-section for 7-10 days before that. So, realistically, we’re looking at October 10-13 for the final date, but we’re not going to know that for awhile yet. If I had my druthers, I’d go for the 10th, because really, how awesome would it be to have a birthday on 10/10/10?!

So that’s that. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything, so I figured I probably ought to get with that.

I’ll try to post some new pics of Jhonen here in a few days, as well. He’s growing up so fast. He’s getting quite a vocabulary, lately, with words as well as associated actions/sounds (like, he makes a “trunk” with his arm, and makes a trumpet sound, when you say “elephant”). It’s great. We’re having so much fun with him as he grows up. Here lately, Mom and Dad have also somehow managed to become toys. He grabs our clothes and drags us around, putting us down into chairs or making us get on the floor or whatever. So that’s fun.

Anyway, like I said, I’ll post some pics here in a bit. Just wanted to post a quick update since it’d been awhile.
